Welcome!

I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On January 11, 2001, my life changed forever. After a lifetime of miracles and defying all the medical odds, my husband of 42 and-a-half years, left this life to be with the Lord. At that moment of great sadness, the Lord spoke to me and gave me a choice. I could turn my thoughts inward and let my grief consume my life, or I could lift my eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. Rev. Spann and I both understood how the love of God could give hope to the hopeless and how education can empower young people to aspire to the greatness that God put in their hearts.

God gave me the vision to start the Spann Foundation. Along with our 8 children and the community, we plan to continue Rev. Spann’s legacy of leadership, community service, and empowerment through college scholarships. We held our first Scholarship Luncheon in May 2002, and God has continued to bless to have them every year since then.

In 2009, we launched this website, to give people information and an opportunity to support our cause. As CEO of the Spann Foundation, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our web page. Thank you for coming. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family is my sincerest prayer. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Prayerfully and Peacefully,

Dr. Wilma N. Spann,

CEO/ Founder
